September 30 - October 4, 2007

Hosted by USS Stevens Association Secretary Dick Weston,

John Chiquoine of USS Harrison and Robert Schwartz of USS Schroeder

Total attendance 91 with 4 USS Stevens shipmates including 2 plankowners and 12 USS Stevens family members.

Attendees:  Ruth Blanchard and son Jim; Bill & Mary Curtis; John and Joann Bond Jacobs; Stan and Eleanor Lappen; Irma Lydon, aunt Kate and sons John, Mickey and Kevin Lydon; Chet Thomason*; Dick* and Harriet Weston

Ships of Destroyer Squadron 25 represented at the reunion were:  USS Stevens DD 479; USS Schroeder DD 501; USS Sigsbee DD 502; USS Harrison DD 573 and USS Rogers DD 574.

Sunday night was a reception for all with wine or beer and finger food put on by the hotel.  On Monday morning we boarded a bus for a very comprehensive tour of Pittsburgh and had lunch at Station Square.  Tuesday night was the banquet with one of the highlights a march in to the banquet room, single file, by the veterans of the Destroyers to be greeted by a reception line of family and friends.  In between scheduled events and personal side trips we spent a lot of time either in the Hospitality Room or the Archive Room  where talks were given by the veterans and sons along with slide shows of the destroyers in WW II.  It was great making friends with the crews of the ships we saw mostly from a distance.
